Abstract

Ajwah dates are commonly consumed by the Prophet Muhammad. In the hadith mentions the virtue of consuming Ajwah dates in an odd number of 7 dates. In a study mentions that there are differences in blood glucose levels between normal and obese people. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the date of the dates in the introduction of odd number (7 dates) and even number (6 dates) to blood glucose people with normal nutritional status and overweight. Sample was taken consecutive sampling, there were 40 respondents. Respondents were required to fast for 12 hours from 20.00 to 08.00. Respondents would be taken fasting blood glucose and then given the date of Ajwa to be consumed. Subsequent intake of blood glucose in the 30 minutes, 60, 90, and postprandial blood glucose (120 minutes). There 4 group was devided in this research group 1 was normal nutritional status consuming of ajwah dates in odd number (7 dates), group 2 was normal nutritional status consuming of ajwah dates in even number (6 dates), group 3 was overweight nutritional status consuming of ajwah dates in odd number (7 dates), and group 4 was overweight nutritional status consuming of ajwah dates in even number (6 dates) The results mentioned that the average fasting blood glucose level in group 1 is 70.90+8,77, in group 2 is 70.70±10,45 in group 3 is 76.20+10,04 and in group 4 is 74.60±15,29 whereas for blood glucose average posprandial in group 1 is 66.50 ±13,73, in group 2 is 76+13,25, in group 3 is 69.60±17,38 and in group 4 is 72+ 9,22.Conclusions gained that there is no influence of Ajwah dates in the provision of odd number (7 dates) and even number (6 dates) to the blood glucose normal people and overweight because p->0,05 Key words: Date Fruit 'Ajwah', Fasting Blood Glucose, Postprandial Blood Glucose).
