THE CORRELATION OF KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE FACTORS TOWARD 5S BEHAVIOR ON LA-TANSA BREAD FACTORY WORKERS GONTOR PONOROGO
Abstract
The implementation of the 5S program (seiri, seiton, seisō, seiketsu, and shitsuke) in small and medium
industries in Ponorogo is still very low. This is due to the lack of understanding of industrial owners and workers
regarding the importance of implementing the 5S program. One of the small and medium industries in Ponorogo
is the La-Tansa Gontor Bread Factory. Based on preliminary observations, in the production process at the LaTansa Bread Factory, it is known that the behavior of 5S workers is still very poor, which affects the production
process and product quality. Based on the several research, the behavior of 5S workers is caused by several
factors, including knowledge and attitudes and others. This study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge and
attitude factors on the behavior of 5S workers at the La-Tansa Bread Factory. This study was an analytic
observational study with a cross-sectional design. The research subjects were 12 respondents. Assessment
instrument of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of 5S workers using questionnaires and checklists. The data
analysis used the chi-square test in the SPSS version 24 program. The results of statistical tests show that there
is no relationship between knowledge and attitudes toward the behavior of 5R workers with an attitude value
(Sig) of 1,000 (P-value> 0.05) and the value for knowledge (Sig) of 1,000 (P- value> 0.05). Thus it can be
concluded that there is no influence between knowledge and attitudes towards the behavior of 5S workers at the
La-Tansa Bread Factory.
