HABITUATION IN SHAPING ISLAMIC MORALITIES IN MTs N 1 KEBUMEN

Character education is a very important foundation for a nation, and if it is embedded
within every human being, they can contribute positively to the environment. Teachers
can develop character education by introducing character education that is applied
through habituation activities in school. This is interesting to conduct a study entitled The
implementation of character education based habituation in shaping Islamic Morality in
MTs N 1 Kebumen, Central Java.
This research aims: (1) to analyze the values of the characters in MTs N 1 Kebumen,
(2) to examine the character education of learners based on habituation in shaping Islamic
moral in MTs N 1 Kebumen.
This research was descriptive qualitative research. Location of research was MTs N 1
Kebumen. Research data obtained through observation, interview and documentation. This
research used as field model of Miles and Huberman (1984). Data reduction, data display,
retrieval conclusion, and verification, were the data analysis technique.
The research results showed that: (1) the values of the characters in MTs N 1 Kebumen
include: (a) the values of a religious character, (b) the values of honesty character, (c) the
values of discipline character, (d) the values of love the country character, and (e) the values
of caring for the environment character; (2) the application of character education based
on habituation in shaping Islamic morality in MTs N 1 Kebumen through: (a) habituation
activity S5, (b) habituation of infaq, (c) dhuha prayer, (d) dzuhur prayer in congregation and
other. The establish habituation learners MTs N 1 Kebumen with sanctions and reprimand
in the form of motivation.
Suggestions to put forward in this study are a must have support, care, and supervision
of the parents in the formation of the morals of the learners, because the establishment of
morals is not just the responsibility of the school but rather a shared responsibility. So what
to expect at school could be in line with the family environment and place of residence.
