Abstract
Red betel was developed to have antibacterial substances which can be developed into preparations as deodorizing bodies. Spray preparations are preparations that provide concentrated content and are practical in use. The purpose of this research is to make spray deodorant preparations with a combination of red betel leaf extract and aluminum potassium sulfate, to see the physical stability of the preparations and preparations in which formula is best to be used as an antiperspirant spray deodorant formulation. Red betel extract (Piper crocatum) is obtained using the maceration method, the extract will be concentrated using a rotary evaporator and ethanol residue is removed in the extract using a water bath. The ingredients used in the formulation are red betel extract, aluminum potassium sulfate, glycerin, propylene glycol, NaOH, propylparaben, isopropyl alcohol, menthol, tween 80, fragrance, and aquadest. Spray preparations in control preparations, F1, F2, and F3 contain 0%, 10%, 20% and 25% of aluminum potassium sulfate which function as antiperspirants respectively. The results of this study are Aluminum potassium sulfate can be combined with red betel extract in a spray deodorant formulation, based on physical evaluation of preparations that have gone through physical tests, The stability test includes pH test, homogeneity, organoleptic, spray power, dry time test, and fabric effect test. In the control formulation and F1, F2 and F3 show that the control and F1 have a pH that matches the physiological pH of the skin and a good stability test by with pharmacopeia and SNI and the control formula and F1 which has the composition of aluminum potassium sulfate as much as 10% has the best stability test on spray deodorant of antiperspirant.
