Abstract
ABSTRACT Formulation of Sand Granules from Extract of Teak Wood (Tectona grandis) Powder as Biolarvicides and The Activity against Aedes sp. Larvae Anastia Rahmatan Nisa 3820177181405 Indonesia is a country that almost all parts of the region has a tropical climate. This results in some disease-carrying vectors growing and developing well, one of it is the Aedes sp. which is a vector of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD). Dengue disease in Indonesia alone has reached 49,563 cases as of April 27, 2020. Prevention can be done by controlling mosquito larvae using larvacides. Long-term and improper use of synthetic larvacides will result in resistance and side effects such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness and nervous disorders, and can damage the environment. Therefore, larvacide research from biological materials such as Teak Wood (Tectona grandis) because it contains compounds such as kuinon, alkaloids, saponins and flavonoids. This study aims to find out the activity of Teak Wood powder as biolarvasida against Aedes sp. mosquito larvae by making preparations and granules. Teak wood powder was extracted by the Soxhletation method using 96% ethanol as a solvent. Granule preparations were made by wet granulation method with 4 formulations used different concentrations of teakwood powder extract, namely 0%, 14%, 11%, 8%. All formulations used inert ingredients with the same concentration, that are explotab (14%) PVP (8%) and lactose (added to 100% granule mass). Data in the form of physical evaluation results of sand granules then continued with the biolarvicide activity test against Aedes sp. One Way ANOVA was used to determine which formulation of sand granules is the most active as a biolarvicide. Probit analysis was used to determine the acute toxicity value based on LC50 and the time of acute toxicity based on the LT50 value. The formulation of sand granules for teak wood powder extract (Tectona grandis) which was the most active as a biolarvicide based on the number of mortality of larvae of Aedes sp mosquito was formulation 1 (p <0,05). The concentration of acute toxicity of teak wood powder extract (Tectona grandis) on sand granules preparation against Aedes sp. mosquito larvae. Resulting in an LC50 value of 11.43 mg/L and the time of acute toxicity with LT50 of 37.33 hours. Keywords: Aedes sp., Teak Wood Powder Extract, preparation of sand granules, larvicidal activity
