The study of Al-Qur’an has many secrets of beginning or ending of words in the verses of the Al-Qur’an. Like the words syukur and kufur which are mentioned in five verses with the word syukur at the beginning and word kufur at the end. And one verse says kufur at the beginning and a word of syukur after it. The aimed of this study is to find out the secret of beginning and ending the words syukur and kufur in the Qur'an, so as to get the wisdom of each verse. The method used a descriptive method by collecting various data needed then compiling it using primary and secondary data and analysis method, by taking conclusions and values obtained after studying the verses of syukur and kufur by using contextual semantic analysis. The result that the secret of the word syukur, it is a part of the culture of believer and adab is the habit of religious people. The secret of ending the word syukur for kufur because it is relationship between the characteristic of Allah and his slave who returns to the burden of shari’ah. Than, when humans are grateful after a warning, they will be released from kufur.
