Islamic Law Overview on Cash Waqf Management (Case Study at Sabilillah Mosque Sharia Cooperative Malang 2023-2024)
Abstract
The economic balance of society is something that must always be maintained. One of the solutions to maintain balance and avoid uncertain economic inequality among the wider community is cash waqf. Cash waqf can develop property it is managed in the right way to Islamic law, researchers conducted a descriptive analysis of the cash waqf management mechanism that has been carried out by the Sabilillah Mosque Cooperative Malang.
This research aims to learn about the cash waqf management mechanism at the Sabilillah Malang mosque cooperative which will then be analysed with Islamic law. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method where the researcher will visit the Sabilillah Mosque Cooperative Malang to describe the cash waqf management mechanism. Data collection techniques used by researchers in the form of observation of cash waqf management, interviews in structural form with cooperative parties and also documentation through books, reports and archives of cash waqf management in cooperatives.
The results showed that the management of cash waqf carried out by the Sabilillah Mosque Cooperative is complines with Islamic law’s perspective. The management uses a net loan model given to cooperative members as business capital and loan funds. The funds generated from the management of cash waqf are used to help ghorimin in repaying debts and also for the mosque's operational needs such as electricity and water payments. To maximize cash waqf management, the Sabilillah Mosque Cooperative should introduce cash waqf to the public by expanding socialization through social media platforms so as to increase public knowledge in cash waqf.
