Hypertension is one of the most prevalent diseases in Indonesia, with the incidence rate increasing every year. This condition requires long-term treatment that has the potential to cause high costs for patients. Therefore, we need to conduct a cost-effectiveness analysis to identify the most efficient therapy in terms of both costs and benefits. This study aims to analyze the cost-effectiveness of the combination of Valsartan-Furosemide and Amlodipine-Furosemide antihypertensive therapy in hypertensive patients with heart failure at Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta. This study retrospectively collect data from 31 hospitalized patients, including blood pressure data, therapy cost, and therapy effectivenessTarget therapy for blood pressure was <140/90 mmHg. The results showed that the Valsartan-Furosemide combination successfully achieved the target 100%, while the Amlodipine-Furosemide combination was only effective at 71%. The average direct medical cost for the Valsartan-Furosemide combination was Rp10,402,722 and the Amlodipine-Furosemide combination was Rp21,952,095. The Average Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ACER) calculation showed a lower value for Valsartan-Furosemide than for Amlodipine-Furosemide, with ACER values of Rp104,027 and Rp309,184, respectively. The Incremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ICER) between the two combinations was Rp 398,254.
