EVALUATION OF ANTIPSYCHOTICS USE IN SCHIZOPHRENIA PATIENTS IN BINANGUN DISTRICT, BLITAR REGENCY
Abstract
According to WHO the prevalence schizophrenia was increased around 40% in
the world and 20% in Indonesia. Based on data from RISKESDAS in 2013, there were
15.1% of sufferers who did not do treatment and there were 51.1% of sufferers did not
do treatment regularly with various reason. This is the basis for conducting this research.
The purpose of this research is to identify the pattern of antipsychotics drug use in
schizophrenia patients and to identify the common side effects experienced by
schizophrenia patients. The method used in this research is mixed methods research
which is combining prospective and retrospective methods. The instruments used in this
research was questionnaire related to side effect. The result of this research based on
demographic data schizophrenia experience among gender is male. Meanwhile based on
the most age schizophrenia experience in the range age 36-45 years. Based on the most
duration of the sufferer disturbance schizophrenia experience about 3 years. The most
common drug usage treatment combination which is used about 3 combinations of drug.
Based on antipsychotics group, the most common antipsychotics used is typical
antipsychotic or first generation. Treatment besides antipsychotics group, the commonly
used is anticholinergics group such as trihexyphenidyl. Based on side effects the most
frequent happen is akathisia with the total of 23 incidents. Conclusion of this research is
the pattern of antipsychotic drugs used is using 3 combinations, it is between haloperidol
trihexyphenidyl-chlorpromazine. While for th side effect the most frequent occurs in
schizophrenia patients is akathisia there was 23 incidents (23%).
