Abstract

Mental health in students has become a relevant topic in educational research, especially in the era of Generation Z, which is heavily influenced by technological advances. Technological developments facilitate access to information but also trigger distractions that interfere with learning motivation in Aqidah Akhlak subjects, and mental health is an essential factor in increasing students’ learning motivation to internalize moral and religious values. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mental health on learning motivation in Aqidah Akhlak, a subject for the XI MAN 4 Kebumen students. This research method uses a quantitative survey approach with an associative hypothesis. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to a sample of grade XI students of MAN 4 Kebumen, with 89 respondents selected by stratified random sampling. Data analysis using descriptive analysis, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing was assisted by SPSS version 25.0. The results showed a significant influence between mental health and student learning motivation in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak. With a significant value of 0.00 < 0.05, it can be concluded that variable X affects variable Y. Based on the research findings, the researcher provides several. Firstly, teachers should pay attention to both extrinsic and intrinsic factors that can influence students’ mental health and learning motivation. Secondly, students are encouraged to be more enthusiastic about learning, to strengthen their mental health, and to increase their motivation. Lastly, future researchers are expected to delve deeper into this topic and consider additional variables that may affect learning motivation in Aqidah Akhlak subjects.
