Abstract
This thesis is motivated by the urgency of preserving memorization for Qur'an memorizers, particularly at PPTQ Al-Hadi, Al-Hamra’ Complex, Krapyak, Yogyakarta. The institution accommodates students from university-level backgrounds with diverse educational histories, including both pesantren and non-pesantren environments. Some students, especially those from non-pesantren backgrounds, lack the ability to write in Arabic script. Therefore, this study aims to explore the steps and implementation of the Muraja’ah Kitabah method applied at PPTQ Al-Hadi, Al-Hamra’ Complex, Krapyak, Yogyakarta, to enhance the students' Qur'an memorization. This research is a field study employing a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, focusing on the Muraja'ah Kitabah technique, which involves reviewing Qur'an memorization through rewriting the memorized verses. The study was conducted at PPTQ Al-Hadi, Al-Hamra' Complex, Krapyak, Yogyakarta. Data collection was carried out using three techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation. To ensure data accuracy, the triangulation method was applied, along with data analysis techniques comprising data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the Muraja'ah Kitabah method examined comprises five class levels, each with its own criteria and objectives that students must achieve. This system is tailored to meet the needs of each student, resulting in a significant impact on improving the quality of their memorization. Through writing activities, students are able to memorize the Qur'an in greater detail, which not only strengthens their memory but also deepens their understanding of the text and its grammatical rules, such as nahwu and sharaf, while enhancing the beauty of their Arabic handwriting. This research demonstrates that the Muraja'ah Kitabah method is an effective tool for enhancing the memorization strength and comprehension of the Qur'an among students at PPTQ Al-Hadi Al-Hamra'. For further development of the Muraja'ah Kitabah method, the researcher recommends expanding the schedule of activities to increase the chapters repeated and to optimize the outcomes further.
