DEVELOPMENT OF HIJAIYAH LETTER RECOGNITION APPLICATION FOR CAHAYA HATI KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN BASED ON AUGMENTED REALITY

Abstract
Learning hijaiyah letters is a vital foundation for Qur'anic reading, especially in early childhood. Traditional teaching approaches, however, frequently fail to captivate young learners. This research sought to develop an Augmented Reality (AR) application for hijaiyah letter recognition tailored to KG IT Cahaya Hati students. The application leverages AR technology to enhance interactivity and provide a more stimulating learning environment. Waterfall methodology was used for development, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The application features animated 3D hijaiyah letters. Three-stage testing was performed. Expert review of the learning materials yielded 100% validity, confirming alignment with learning objectives. Educational technology experts rated the application’s design and interface at 97.6%, indicating excellent quality. User testing with kindergarten students scored 86.1%, demonstrating the application’s effectiveness and popularity with children. These results support the conclusion that the application is efficient and a beneficial learning tool for hijaiyah letters.
