Abstract

Kulliyatu-l-Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah (KMI) Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor as an Islamic educational institution which is established to form cadres of "ummah" always make serious effort to produce the optimum learning achievement. So that, the students of KMI could achieve the good result of education and appropriate with the purposes and the expectations of education, The learning achievement indeed would not be realized, except by the implementation of good learning method. And, the reality shows that some of the students (18%) could not achieve the good result of learning, so they are not promoted to the higher class. Based on the above reality, the writer has desire to discover whether there is any correlation or not between the learning method and the learning achievement of class one students of Kulliyatu-l-Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah Pondok Modern Gontor. In this regard, the learning method consists of a. Guidance of learning, b Condition and strategy of learning and c. Learning method. The methods employed by the researcher to gain the required data are: questionnaire, documentary and observation The subject of this research is all students of class one KMI Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor academic year 1420-1421/1999-2000 of the amount 541 students taken 100 students (+20%) to be the sample using random sampling technique To analyze the data, the researcher employs Chi square formula with the standard of mistake 5% and coefficient contingency afterward to know whether there is the correlation between two correlated variables or not. By the statistical analyzes, it is found that there is no any significant correlation between them. Neither in the correlation between the guidance of learning and the learning achievement, not in the correlation between the condition and strategy of learning and the learning achievement, also not in the correlation between the learning method and the learning achievement. However it is suggested for all teachers of KMI Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor to take more attention and make every effort to enhance the guidance for the students because of the lowness of this aspect and to depend the condition and strategy of learning and learning method factor according to its good result and to defend the factors out of the learning method which can support the good learning achievement, and to find the solution of the factors out of the learning method which can cause the bad learning achievement. And it is suggested for the next researcher to research and to find the factors out of the learning method which can support the good learning achievement
