Abstract
Many people feel difficulty to learn mathematics. It is caused by a number of the influential factors. However, as the king of science and the key of knowledge where in everything is exist the element of mathematics, then human being ought to learn it. This mathematics train human being to think practically and logically. Moreover, it makes the people to take the decision casily, fastly and exactly. KMI Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor conscious how important this knowledge for the students. Hence, KMI places its subject and curriculum as the knowledge and the skill that they will use it in their daily life activities. One of the factors that influence the difficulties of learning this subject is the student's readiness factor to learn it. The attention about this factor is very rare. Meanwhile, the aim of this study is to know the correlation between the student's readiness factor with the student ability to learn mathermatics of classes four Kulliyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah (KMI) PMDG. The data. collections and done by the observation, interview, questionnaire, documentary and test way. While the data of students readiness and the learning ability are analyzed with the product moment correlation technique with significantly degree 5% and 1% and degree of freedom (d.f) 63. The objects of this research are the whole students of classes four KMI PMDG on academic year 1421-1422 with has total 325 students. Choosing 65 students as the sample or 15% from the whole of population and taken by the method of stratified proportional random sampling The result of research shows that; 1. The students readiness degree of classes four is still low The ability learning to mathematics lesson is low 2. 3. There is the significant correlation between the readiness and the students learning ability of classes four to study mathematics Based on these analyses of this research, suggested: (1) The syllabus team ought to recite the matters of his subject to make it more flexible than the students can accept it quickly (2) The guardians of KMI PMDG and the whole teachers in particular mathematics teachers to pay more attention to the students readiness to face this subject, then the reached result will be more optimal, and (3)To whole the mathematics teachers can choose and decide the suitable method in delivering this lesson to the students, so the students will be more interested to learn it and they can implernent its value in their daily life activities.
