Abstract

Pondok Modern Gontor is an Islamic Education Institution which emphasizes religious moral. It doesn't base on another foundation nor any institution in carrying out its administration. In order to ease the performing of many jobs and dutics, Pondok Modern takes some employees to work at several units of trade and departments of work that the teachers can not be able enough to do all of those duties. Most of the employees live in the campus that in their daily works they know, of course, more over feel all the forms of condition of Pondok environment. Their religious attitude has to conform to the religious activities which are presented by Pondok environment. Attitude of a person is reflection of his personality; it can determine character, reality and behavior of him. Religious attitude is condition in a person that motivates to have behavior conforms to the value of his obedience toward religion. One of the matters that can describe the personality of employees at Pondok Modern Gontor is their religious attitude. The attention about this matter is very rare. Meanwhile, the aim of this study is to know the condition of employees at Pondok Modern Gontor conceming in their religious attitude. The writer in his research uses some methodologies to gain the data; it is done with interview, observation and documentary. While the data of religious activities of employees are analyzed by the descriptive method because it is kind of qualitative research. The object of this research is the whole employees at Pondok Modem Gontor One with have total 177 persons. Choosing 7 workers as the sample from the whole of population and taken by the method of random sampling. The condition of Pondok Modern Gontor as pesantren environment and Islamic Education Institution influences the religious attitude of some its employees that their deed and behavior conform to the religious activities which are presented by Pondok. The employees at Pondok Modern Gontor are varieties in their religious attitude. Some of them have good attitude and some have bad attitude in carrying out their religious activities. The main purpose of employees to join working at Pondok Modern Gontor is financial problem. Some of them aimed to work while worship to Allah SWT by serving themselves for Pondok. Some aimed to work there because they have no alternative work out of Pondok. And some aimed working there to seek for religious sciences. Most of employees have less ability in performing religious behavior that somebody of them can not be able to read Qur'an as holy book of Islam primary source of Islamic teachings. Some do not perform the religious obligation like prayer and fasting. Based on the analyses of this research, it is suggested that the attention toward religious attitude and moral of all employees at Pondok must be improved as well as the development of the building. Indeed, this research is very simple, because it is only the descriptive research. Therefore, it is necessary for the next researchers to improve more these results of this earlier study
