Abstract

Islamic boarding schools have more activities that are full compared to regular schools. So that the possibility of accidents and health problems for everyone, which can affect the activities of students at Islamic boarding schools. The purpose of this research is to explore the understanding of occupational safety and health aspects in Ponorogo Islamic boarding school education which includes 4 aspects, namely OSHknowledge in islamic boarding school education, behavior in islamic boarding school boarding schools in accordance with OSHprinciples, infrastructure facilities in accordance with OSH, support of government institutions related to OSHin Islamic boarding schools. This type of research is qualitative. The data collection method uses interviews. This research was conducted in 4 Islamic boarding schools. The research informants are the administrators of Islamic boarding schools who are engaged in student activities and infrastructure facilities totaling 10 informants. The results of this study show that the knowledge of the management of the Islamic boarding school does not know in depth about OSH, the behavior in the Islamic boarding school already reflects the OSHsuch as cleaning the environment and the use of PPE in the activities of high-risk students, the monitoring and evaluation of the infrastructure of the Islamic boarding school by the management of the Islamic boarding school, and the lack of cooperation between the Islamic boarding school and government institutions such as socialization. In conclusion, there is still a lack of understanding of islamic boarding school administrators about OSHin Islamic boarding schools, in Islamic boarding schools it has reflected behavior in accordance with OSH, there has been a check on infrastructure facilities in Islamic boarding schools, and there has been no cooperation between Islamic boarding schools and government agencies related to safety and health in Islamic boarding schools.
