Abstract
Technological advancements have made access to sharia-based investments easier, especially for Gen Z, who are highly familiar with digital technology. Although investment access has become more convenient, a good understanding is still necessary for optimal decision-making. Information systems play a crucial role in increasing investment interest safely, while the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS) provides investment services that comply with sharia principles. The research problem in this study focuses on the level of understanding of sharia securities and the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS) information system among Generation Z in West Java, as well as the influence to which the understanding of sharia securities and the utilization of the SOTS information system influence investment interest in SOTS among Generation Z in the region. This is conducted with the aim of determining the magnitude of the influence of understanding sharia securities and the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS) information system on investment interest in SOTS among Generation Z. This research uses a quantitative method, with the distribution of questionnaires through Google Form. The population of this study was taken from Generation Z in West Java Province, with a sample size of 120 respondents according to the sampling rules based on the number of indicators used. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method with the aid of SmartPLS version 4.0.9.9. The results of this study indicate that the hypothesis of the influence of Islamic securities understanding on investment interest is rejected with a T-statistic of 1.614 < 1.96 and p-values of 0.106 > 0.05. And conversely, the hypothesis of the influence of the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS) information system on investment interest is accepted with a T-statistic value of 8.735 > 1.96 and p values of 0.000 < 0.05. The first result shows that Generation Z still has limitations in understanding sharia securities, thus it does not affect their investment interest. The second result shows that the increasingly developed SOTS information system plays an important role in increasing investment interest among Generation Z.
