Abstract
Pondok Modern Gontor since establishment up to now as Islamic educa-tional Institution named boarding institution has modernized the system and the method of teaching where it has applied and actualized an integrat-ed curriculum or all in one system method with no more separation between academic programme and non academic programme. Definition of non academic activities is human development and creative planing by conscientization approach. While the definition of academic activities is the continual-specific profesional program by academic and general orientation. The spirit millitancy, desire and creation are indication of students activities in holding and executing programme. While consciousnees of students in social living in indicated by social knowledge, and endevour of students to execute some social aspect, such as ethics attitude, self-rellance, responsible conduct and simplicity. Pondok Hodern Gontor educates its students have independent mind in order that may unite society in which there are various parties or group after having completed study at Pondok Modern Contor. They had have social consciousness, which he definition of social consciousness is commulty-oriented activities of democratization, moral, socialization and responsi-ble conduct. So Pondok Modern Gontor is above and for all group is real and not only rethoric. Many graduates of Pondok Modern Gontor become leaders of Muhammadlyah, NU, PSII and so forth. However, they have to be able to cooperate among them. For exploring and knowing correlation between activeness in non aca-demic activies and social consciousness of class five students of KMI Pondok Modern Gontor Ponorogu used some methods questionare, interview, observation, documentation and in the last is conclusion. The standard of significant for this research is 5%. From the solution above, known that the result of correlation for this research is 0.198. It is better than standard of significant 5% (0.159). The writer takes conclu-sion that there are some correlation between the activeness in non academic activities and the social consclousness of class five students of KMI Pondok Modern Gontor, altough it is denotes low correlation between two varlable (X and Y) The measurement of the the activeness in non academic activities as described below: 30 up to 40 denotes very low activities, 41 up to 51 denotes low activities, 52 up to 62 denotes middle low activities, 63 up to 73 denotee high low activities, bigger than 73 denotes very high activities Then the measurement of social consciousness of class five students of KMI Pondok Modern Gontor as described below: 21 up to 31 denotes very low consclousness. 32 up to 42 denotes low consciousness, 43 up to 53 denotes midle low consciousness, 54 up to 64 denotes high low conscious-ness, bigger than 64 denotes very high consciousness. The writer takes conclussion that there are the activeness in non academic activities (X). The mean of X is 55, it denotes midle activenesa in non academic activiites. There are also the social consciousness (Y). The mean of (Y) is 40, it denotes low social consciousness.
