Abstract
ABSTRACT THE CONCEPT OF JUSTICE IN THE QUR’AN ACCORDING TO RISALE-I NUR SAID NURSI Vira Anggraini 422021233187 The concept of justice in the Qur’an occupies a central and important position and has a great influence on every creature of God. The Qur’an also emphasises the significance of the concept of justice for the welfare of individuals and society. The mufassirs have debated justice with many variations, also by expounding different aspects related to justice such as equality, balance, fairness and accountability. Said Nursi, in his phenomenal book Risale-I Nur, has a very important and major role in the discussion of the concept of justice. Said Nursi’s work further enriches this understanding by integrating justice with contemporary issues, emphasising the role of fostering a harmonious relationship between religion and modern life. To immerse the reader in his understanding of the relevance of Islam in the modern world, Nursi emphasises his interpretation of rational faith and social responsibility. As a result, Risale-I Nur is a valuable work that can be a contribute to the exploration of the concept of justice in detail and in depth. The main purpose of this research is to explain the concept of justice related to the Qur'an and analyse the kinds of justice that can be applied in social life to maintain the balance of social survival. This research aims to investigate the concept of justice within the framework of Said Nursi’s Quranic Interpretation, encompassing the following: 1) a definition of justice, 2) an exploration of the various kinds of justice recognized by Nursi, and 3) an analysis of the relationship between justice and societal life according to his understanding of the Quran. In this study, researchers employed a thematic (maudhu’i) interpretation method as an approach analysing the concept of justice within the framework of Said Nursi’s interpretation of the Qur’an. The type of this research used is library research (makatbiy). Which examining several verses related to the theme between Nursi’s interpretation and other mufassir to solve contemporary social issues. Primary data sources include the Qur’an and Risale-I Nur, while secondary data encompasses relevant literature on tafsir (Quranic commentary), such as tafsir books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and related scholarly articles. Data analysis will involve both descriptive and analytical methods to elucidate Said Nursi’s understanding of justice, its various types, and its relationship with societal life. In this study, the researcher found that there are several of different definitions of justice according to Said Nursi, all of have essentially the same basic meaning, first namely that justice should be balanced, equal and not one side. There are several different aspects to how justice is assessed. For example, considering the balance of what someone did and needing to receive a balanced reward for what they did. The balance that a leader must maintain is achieved by not taking sides. This view produces different forms of justice in the form of, 1) positive justice and negative justice, 2) pure justice and relative justice, and 3) divine justice and social justice. In addition, researchers have found that there is a very close relationship between justice and community life. This is because a society will be able to live prosperously if justice is applied correctly. Or even according to Said Nursi, contemplating the nature that Allah SWT has created with all its balance, leads human to a balanced life as well and will bring humans to happiness and tranquillity in the world. This research only discusses the meaning and concepts of justice and limits it to social justice which has verse interpretations according to Said Nursi in his book Risale-I-Nur using thematic methods. For future researchers, they can research the subject of justice by expanding the discussion using the comparative method, namely comparing the meaning of justice with two mufassirs to produce a broader meaning.
