Abstract

Surah Al-Ahzab verse 70 highlights the significance of communication with true and accurate words in the word qowlan sadida, which indicates honesty and fairness in communication. Honesty is considered a fundamental moral principle in Islam, which includes not only honesty in speech, but also consistency in behavior and intentions. The crisis of trust that occurs in society today, such as corruption, the spread of hoaxes, and fraud, is seen as a result of the decline in the value of honesty. Corruption undermines public trust in government institutions, while hoaxes and fraud damage social relationships between individuals. Thus, this study will examine the concept of honesty in the Qur'an, especially in Surah Al-Ahzab verse 70, and its relationship with the crisis of trust faced by modern society. This research aims to show that honesty, as taught in Surah Al-Ahzab verse 70, can be a solution to overcome the crisis of trust that occurs in society. This research includes qualitative research and using descriptive methods to explain the exact concept of honesty in the word Qowlan Sadidan, then, through the analytical method, to analyze the correlation between the concept of honesty and the crisis of trust. This research is a kind of Library Research with a linguistic approach (siyaq) to analyze the word Qowlan and the word Sadida to get the concept of honesty in Surah Al-Ahzab verse 70, and relate it to the crisis of trust. The results show that the word “qowlan sadidan” means straight, true, and balanced speech. It emphasizes the importance of honesty and integrity in communication. And the concept of honesty here is not only limited to avoiding lies, but also includes speaking in a way that is fair, accurate, and beneficial. And the crisis of trust can be overcome through the concept of “Qowlan Sadida” by making honesty a core value in all interactions, whether personal, professional, or social. To build trust and create harmonious relationships between individuals. The analyzer realizes that this research is far from perfect research, so further research can complement these shortcomings, it is by researching the word qowlan sadida in terms of social aspects.
