Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the Impact of Increasing Free Trade Area (FTA) on investment inflows in Dubai-UAE in 2019-2023. Free Trade Area (FTA) is a free trade agreement between two or more countries that aims to remove barriers to trade and investment. Through the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) as the authority responsible for the implementation of the FTA in Dubai-UAE. The FTA in Dubai not only strengthens investment attractiveness, but also accelerates the process of diversifying the economy, which was previously heavily dependent on the oil and gas sector, into sustainable and innovative key sectors such as manufacturing; tourism; renewable energy; and digital innovation and technology. With several FTA areas spread across the Dubai-UAE region such as Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Al-Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoom Solar Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), Dubai Media City (DMC), Dubai Internet City (DIC) and several other FTA areas. As Dubai's efforts to increase FDI are supported by "Dubai Vision 2030: The Future of Dubai" which is designed to make Dubai-UAE a hub for innovation, sustainability and digital transformation. Dubai-UAE was able to increase investment inflows, especially FDI, with an increasing percentage in 2019-2023. This study aims to analyze the Impact of the Increase in FTA on Investment inflows in Dubai-UAE. Through a qualitative approach with a case study research design through the collection of all interrelated variables. However, one of the limitations in this study is the limited scope of data discussion that the author has.
