Abstract

Thypoid fever is a systemic infection caused by Salmonella Thypibacteria, generally spread is affected by low hygienic levels and contaminated food and drink. These bacteria enter the body or precisely into the digestive tract. Antibiotics are the main drug used to treat this disease. Improper use of antibiotics can cause harm to patients and can trigger antibiotic resistance. This study aims to describe and evaluate the use of antibiotics in uncomplicated thypoid fever patients in the Inpatient Installation of “X” Hospital in 2018. This study is a non-experimental study with retrospective data collection and analysed descriptively with parameters right indication, right medication and the right dosage. The total population in 2018 is 146 samples, for populations from August to December the results of 77 samples. Based on the established inclusion criteria, a sample of 36 patients obtained. The results showed that Levofloxacin antibiotic use was 41.6%, Ciprofloxacin 5.5%, Cefoperazone 8.3%, Ceftriaxone 16.6%, Cefotaxime 22%, Cefadroxil 3%, and Chloramphenicol 3%. The right indication is 100%, the right drug is 97% and the right dose is 97%. Keywords: Antibiotics, Right indication, Right medication, Right dose, Typhoid fever
