This research was conducted to determine the problems and the strategy of developing
sharia equity crowdfunding in Indonesia using the Interpretative Structural Modelling
(ISM) approach. This method uses 9 elements related to the development of sharia equity
crowdfunding. Respondents are experts from academics, practitioners and regulators
who understand about the problem. The results of the research show that disclosure of
information is still considered to be a major issue in the development of sharia equity
crowdfunding due to the lack of public understanding of the extent to which things are
considered confidential and things that are indeed appropriate for publication. The main
strategy of developing sharia equity crowdfunding is the existence of regulations as a basis
for protection and security for the community and sharia aspects, such as sharia declarations
of business, contractual aspects, sharia issuers, sharia stock instruments, sharia banks as
intermediaries for transactions and sharia supervisory board which oversees and evaluates
thoroughly. In addition, a flexible administration and accounting system, competent human
resources in accordance with the principles of good corporate governance to avoid gharar,
maysir and tadlis practices, protection of intellectual property rights by the platform to
business actors and the socialization and education of the community. With this results,
the suggestionsto the development of sharia equity crowdfunding is giving information
protection by registering database security related to the sharia equity crowdfunding
platform, encouraging sharia equity crowdfunding regulations, the existence of sharia
supervisory boards and supporting infrastructure related to sharia equity crowdfunding,
such as the support of transaction agreements, sharia banks and issuers with Islamic
business.
