PERAN KEUANGAN MIKRO ISLAM TERHADAP KETAHANAN PANGAN PEDESAAN BERKELANJUTAN ERA REVOLUSI 4.0
Abstract
This paper review the role of Islamic Microfinance Institutions in realizing food security for rural communities.
Food security defined safe conditions from hunger, availability of sufficient food, easy access to quality food became
a research issue to interest the attention of economists. Food security an indicator of welfare and even a strategy
in solving poverty problems. This problem continues to experience by rural communities, due to the weakness in
the capital has impact on the level of buying power of food. However, in another aspect, gives a profit for
conventional microfinance institutions in use this situation by increasing interest rates and curbing middle to
lower class community. So, the presence of Islamic Microfinance with ta'awun principle by sharia financing and
empowerment programs in rural communities deserves to review because it can solve for the capital community.
By using a qualitative approach namely library research with the microfinance literature related, is analyzed
empirically, comparatively, and giving recommendations with several theoretical works. Finally, this paper
concludes that IMFs has a role in realizing food security in rural communities’ namely economic development
adoption of new technologies, better agricultural mechanisms, increased productivity, increased living standards
of farmers, and alleviating poverty.
