Abstract
Geriatric patients infected with the Covid-19 virus need highly considerations in treatment. In addition, there are other comorbid diseases that cause a lot of drugs consumption. This is leading to many DRPs that arise in geriatric patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the treatment and analyze DRPs in geriatric patiens. This study was a retrospective research and data collected with purposive sampling approach. The research was conducted at Dr. Moewardi Hospital. The results showed that of the 72 subjects who met the research criteria, 45 (62,5%) were male and 27 (37,5%) were female. Comorbid diseases were 78 (99,99%) and without comorbidities there were 24 (100%). The DRP found that 23 cases with indications that were not treated, 38 cases with inappropriate drug duration and 16 cases drug interactions. The conclusion of this study is the medication profile of geriatric patients in this study predominantly included Vitamin C, the antiviral Oseltamivir, PCT (Paracetamol), and Azithromycin. The DRPs identified in this study include inappropriate drug duration in 38 cases, untreated indications in 23 cases, and drug interactions in 16 cases. DRPs that were not observed in this study include the use of drugs without indications, dosing issues, and adverse drug reactions
