Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence interest in using e-wallets (Shopeepay) from the perspective of Islamic business ethics. This research is based on the rapid development of digital transactions in Indonesia, especially electronic wallets, which are increasingly in demand, including Muslims. However, this phenomenon needs to be analyzed further, considering the business ethics standards that must be met in the transaction. This study uses four main variables, namely perceived ease of use (X1), usefulness (X2), trust (X3), and financial literacy (X4), to find out the effect on interest in using Shopeepay by Muslim consumers. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 145 respondents who are students at the University of Darussalam Gontor. Data analysis techniques include structural equation modelling with partial least squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that the ease of use variable had no positive or significant impact on interest in using e-wallets (Shopeepay). However, the variables of usefulness, trust, and financial literacy positively and significantly affect interest in using Shopeepay. This finding shows that Although e-wallet technology offers convenience, other factors such as perceived benefits, trust in services, and consumer understanding of financial literacy have a more dominant role in encouraging interest in financial literacy. Muslim consumers to use the ShopeePay e-wallet. This research is expected to contribute to developing literature on Muslim consumer behavior in using digital financial technology and provide recommendations for e-wallet managers to improve aspects of digital financial technology.
