Abstract

Water infiltration and reservoirs in the soil are a natural phenomenon, one of the places where water is stored in the soil. The phenomenon of water storage on the earth has been clarified in the Qur'an Surah al-Hijr verse 22 and Surah al-Mu'minun verse 18. So deeper research is needed on how the process of water storage in the soil is viewed from the Qur'an. The purpose of this research is to reveal the process of storing water on the earth from the perspective of the Qur'an through the correlation between al i’jaz al bayaniy and al i’jaz al ‘ilmy, and its influence on environmental preservation. Until then, it is proven that there are clear indications in the text that indicate the hydrological truth about the process of water storage in the soil. In this study, researchers used a descriptive method to describe this research, then continued by analyzing the earth's water reservoir and the correlation between al i’jaz al bayaniy and al i’jaz al ‘ilmy. The type of research is literature review research using a linguistic approach and scientific approach. Researchers found that water reservoirs in the soil or earth occur when rainwater falls from the sky to the surface, which then enters the soil through infiltration and percolation processes influenced by soil type, climate, and rain intensity. Then, the water flows vertically and horizontally to the pores or cavities in the soil and rocks and is stored in it, and from here, the water will be stored in the earth. Plants, for photosynthesis, need to absorb the water stored in the soil, which is beneficial for plant development and impacts environmental conservation. The Qur'an has first signaled through al i’jaz al bayaniy and al i’jaz al ‘ilmy. This research is still far from perfect in the study and research on the process of storing water in the soil from the perspective of the Qur'an because this effort is not easy, that is why researchers hope that future researchers will make it better so that their research becomes more perfect and more scientific and so that this research will also be a step in the process of Islamization of science.
