Fiqh is a vital subject that provides students with knowledge and skills related to Islamic law in daily life. However, fiqh learning often remains suboptimal due to students’ difficulties in understanding abstract concepts. Dioramas, as 3D learning media, are expected to assist students in grasping the material through visual and concrete representations.
The aim of this study is to determine the impact of diorama-based learning media on the learning outcomes for 5th grade students in the fiqh subject at MI Miftahul Ulum Driyorejo academic year 2024-2025.
The research employed a quantitative approach using quasi-experimental methods with a Nonequivalent Control Group design. A total sample of 45 students from two classes was selected using Nonprobability Sampling techniques. Data were collected through tests and documentation and analysed using SPSS 25.
The hypothesis test results indicated no significant effect of diorama media on students’ learning outcomes, with a test value of 0.611 ≥ 0.05. Influencing factors included limited classroom space, short learning durations (45 minutes), and insufficient control over internal and external validity during the research process.
While dioramas can attract students’ interest, their effectiveness is contingent upon supportive conditions, such as adequate classroom space, sufficient instructional time, and environmental factors. Based on the conclusions drawn, the researcher offers the following recommendations: (1) For Students, make optimal use of learning media such as dioramas to enhance visual understanding of the material, and actively engage in the learning process to achieve deeper comprehension; (2) For Teachers, Combine diorama media with interactive methods, such as group discussions or simulations, and assess students’ readiness prior to implementing the lessons; (3) For Schools, provide training for teachers on modern instructional media and ensure the availability of adequate facilities and resources; (4) For Researchers, utilise the findings of this study as a reference to support and enhance future learning practices.
