AN ANALYSIS OF CONJUNCTION FOUND IN "HEXA XIFOS" COMIC

Arum, Diah Sekar
Abstract
This research aims to describe and identify the types of conjunctions found in one kind of comic exhibition launched by one of the universities in Indonesia. In addition to being important to know the content of the comic “Hexa Xifos,” research in conjunctions also plays an important role in connecting various kinds of phrases, clauses, and words in full form and meaning. This research uses traditional conjunctions, which, according to experts, are subordinative conjunctions, coordinative conjuncts, and correlative conjuncts, which refer to Warriner's theory. Using Moleong's theory, the data collection technique is organized as follows: data collection with documents, content analysis and categorizing, and triangulation. The result of the conjunction research in the “Hexa Xifos” comic shows that the subordinate conjunction is the dominant conjunction in the comic. This type of conjunction is important in explaining the comic, combining clauses at different grammar levels. This research contributes to linguistic science by categorizing conjunctions in comics, which helps readers understand the flow of the story. Hopefully, this research can be a reference for further researchers based on language analysis in visual texts.
