Abstract
The background of this study is the low learning activeness and learning result of fourth-grade students of Islamic Elementary School GUPPI Laban Sukoharjo because in akidah akhlak subject, teachers usually only use the lecture method. Therefore, learning does not attract students' attention and is boring, and in the end the values contained in the story are not conveyed and do not stick in the minds of students. The purpose of this research is to: (1) to improve student learning activeness 4th grade pupils on akidah akhlak subject at Islamic Elementary School GUPPI Laban Sukoharjo (2) to improve student learning result 4th grade pupils on akidah akhlak subject at Islamic Elementary School GUPPI Laban Sukoharjo The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) proposed by Kemmist and Taggart and consists of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subject of this research is class IV with research instruments in the form of tests, observations, and interviews. The results showed that the application of paper puppet media significantly improved student activeness and learning results. In cycle I, student activeness reached 56.11%, while student learning resulted in a class average score of 59.6. After improvements were made in cycle II, there was a significant increase in both learning activeness reaching 77.77% while student learning resulted in an average class score of 80.3. With this research, it can be concluded that teachers are expected to be more creative in designing innovative and interactive learning media. And students are expected to be more active and open in participating in every learning process. So that it can increase student activeness in the classroom which can be a factor in improving student learning results themselves. The benefits of research for further researchers are that it can be a reference, source of information, and reference material in conducting further research so that it can be developed in other materials to improve the quality of learning.
