Abstract

The most important thing in human life is education. In Islamic education there are various lessons, one of which is the history of Islamic culture. However, learning Islamic Cultural History shows less than optimal results because learning only depends on books so that students are not interested in learning. To increase student interest in learning, researchers examined the effect of Fun Thinkers Book media on student interest in learning Islamic Cultural History. This study aimed to determine the influence of Fun Thinkers Book Media on the learning interest of 3rd-grade students in Islamic Cultural History at MIS Islamiyah Muhammadiyah Walikukun. The study used experimental quantitative research with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design approach. The population in this study were all 3rd grade students at MIS Islamiyah Muhammadiyah Walikukun with a sample size of 52 students with total sampling. The data collection methods used were questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis used is descriptive analysis, pre-requisite test and independent sample t-test with SPSS 25. From the research results, it can be concluded that: 1) There is a difference in the average student interest in learning by using Fun Thinkers Book media, 53.93, higher than conventional methods, 51.20. 2) The independent sample t-test results prove a significant influence between Fun Thinkers Book media and student learning interest with a significant value. 0.023 < 0.05 means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Based on the conclusion, the researcher suggests: 1) For teachers, it is hoped that they can make Fun Thinkers Book learning media as an alternative in the learning process. 2) For students, it is hoped that they will be able to foster interest in learning with varied media and methods so that they are not quickly bored and are always active during the learning process. 3) Schools are expected to be used as suggestions to increase student interest in learning and improve the quality of educators and students. 4) Researchers are expected to be new knowledge and enrich insight. 5) Other researchers are advised to be able to develop Fun Thinkers Book media at the kindergarten or early childhood education (PAUD) level with different subject matter such as Aqidah Akhlak, Fiqh, or Arabic so that it can succeed every learning process in the classroom.
