STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION OF THE DAILY ENGLISH SONGS PROGRAM IN PESANTREN WALISONGO NGABAR FEMALE CAMPUS IN THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR
Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to explore perceptions of the daily English songs program at Pesantren Walisongo Ngabar Female Campus in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research addressed an urgent need for effective and contextually relevant strategies to strengthen English language learning in Pesantren, where global communication skills and religious education must be balanced. A descriptive qualitative design was employed, involving ten students from grades one through six as respondents. Data was collected through interviews and observations from August 24 to September 13, 2024. Findings indicated that the daily English songs program is an engaging method for supporting English language learning, enhancing vocabulary acquisition, and facilitating mastery of this international language. The outcomes underscore the pressing need for creative educational media to balance global language effectively.
