Juridical Analysis of the Management of Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3) at Yasyfin Darussalam Gontor Hospital in Ponorogo
Abstract
Health is one of the universally recognized human rights. The government is responsible for providing proper healthcare facilities. Hospitals, as health service providers, have the responsibility to manage medical waste properly. Yasyfin Darussalam Gontor Hospital in Ponorogo Regency, which has been operating since 2022, is one of the health facilities that generates B3 medical waste. The hospital is unique in that it is under an educational foundation, which combines healthcare with education and research. This study aims to analyze the laws and regulations and the implementation of B3 waste management conformity at Yasyfin Darussalam Gontor Hospital.The method used in this research is a normative juridical approach, which includes a statutory approach, conceptual approach, and case approach. Data were collected through literature study and field observation, and analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis method. The results showed that the management of hazardous and toxic waste (B3) at Yasyfin Darussalam Gontor Hospital reflects a positive commitment to public health and environmental protection. Although it faces obstacles such as limited facilities, human resource training, and challenges in implementation. This study recommends adjustments in B3 waste management to ensure compliance with applicable laws/regulations in Indonesia.
