Along with the development of increasingly modern times, social influence has a huge impact on a person's perception, and can create psychological attitudes to gain stability or distance themselves from worries. This triggers individuals to have a great desire to stay connected to what others are doing through cyberspace, which is what we call the FoMO phenomenon. One's fear of social backwardness often triggers a stronger desire to gain recognition from society. In the Islamic framework, not all human desires are needs. Only desires that are needs in the world and the hereafter can be used as needs. This study aims to describe and analyze the FoMO phenomenon, which is a new phenomenon in Islamic circles. And to identify the achievement of maslahah in this phenomenon. This research is a qualitative research that is literature. Data collection is done by using data derived from books, dictionaries, previous articles whose results are close to this research. The analysis used is qualitative analysis with the deductive method, namely the researcher analyzes from general to specific so that conclusions can be drawn. The results of this study show the FoMO phenomenon which describes as a feeling of anxiety or fear that others may experience pleasant or valuable things. So that it causes dissatisfaction, stress, and even affects a person's decision making, because he tends to constantly compare himself with others. Where this is not in line with the principle of maslahah al-mursalah according to Imam Al-Ghazali because it brings more harm (loss) than benefits (maslahah) for individuals and society. Based on the results of the above research, people should avoid FoMO and focus on welfare that is more essential and in line with sharia principles.
