Abstract
Indonesia is known as an archipelago rich in cultural diversity and abundant natural resources. However, Indonesia is currently facing considerable challenges related to the low quality of human resources (HR). The low quality of human resources is a real obstacle for Indonesia in achieving sustainable economic growth and increasing global competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the role of Baitul Mal Aceh Tenggara in improving the quality of human resources through scholarship programs. With the background of the challenges faced by Indonesia in improving the quality of education and human resources, this research increases the importance of the role of zakat institutions in supporting community education. The research method used is qualitative, by collecting data through in-depth interviews and observation at the research location. The results show that the scholarship program managed by Baitul Mal Aceh Tenggara has a positive impact on improving the education and skills of the community. The scholarship program in Southeast Aceh has had a major impact in improving the quality of human resources (HR). Tuition assistance enables students from underprivileged families to complete their studies on time, increases competitiveness and opens up employment opportunities. Many scholarship recipients now contribute to various sectors, such as government, and have reached their target of becoming muzakki who support the community through zakat. With an increased quota and better distribution, this program can continue to support the development of quality human resources and strengthen welfare in Southeast Aceh.
