Abstract
In Islamic economics, material aspects are never considered the primary benchmark for economic activities. This perspective stems from Islam's view of economic activities as a means to achieve the ultimate goal: comprehensive welfare for all. One of the key indicators in evaluating economic performance is economic growth. An economy is considered to grow and develop when its level surpasses previous periods. According to Weliswa Matekenya and Clement Moyo, economic growth is a necessary but insufficient condition for achieving socio-economic development. If poverty and unemployment levels rise, economic growth diminishes. Through its emphasis on economic growth, Islam offers solutions by guiding individuals to fulfill their obligations, such as Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS). This study aims to analyze the impact of the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR), poverty, and economic growth on the distribution of Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) in Yogyakarta City from 2011 to 2023. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Yogyakarta City. The population for this study is derived from one of the cities in Indonesia's 33 provinces. Data analysis techniques include Descriptive Analysis, Classical Assumption Testing, and Multiple Regression Equation Analysis, with data processing conducted using EViews 12 software. The findings of this study indicate that both the Unemployment Rate (OUR) and poverty have a significant impact on ZIS (Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah) based on partial tests. However, the study reveals that Economic Growth does not exhibit a significant influence on ZIS in partial testing. One limitation of this research is the relatively short time series of 13 years, as the sample is confined to a single city, Yogyakarta. Consequently, the researcher recommends that future studies incorporate additional variables to explore other indicators that may contribute to enhancing economic growth more comprehensively.
