Abstract
ABSTRACT THE APPLICATION OF HABITUATION METHODS IN INSTILLING ISLAMIC SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE ON CHILDREN WITH MILD INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY AT SLB PUTRA IDHATA MADIUN Ana Walidatush Sholihah 422021113019 Mildly intellectually disabled children require a special approach in instilling Islamic spiritual intelligence. The habituation method is effective in forming habits of worship and Islamic values. Its success depends on the support of family, teachers and the environment. This study examines the application of the habituation method as well as its supporting and inhibiting factors. The purpose of this study is to: (1) To find out the Application of the Habituation Method to instill Islamic Spiritual Intelligence of Children with Mild intellectual disability in SLB Putra Idhata Madiun. (2) To find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of the habituation method in SLB Putra Idhata Madiun. This research was conducted with a qualitative research method with a field study approach by taking the research setting at SLB Putra Idhata Madiun in May-December 2024. Data collection methods used observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis method in the study used interactive analysis with data collection steps, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. From this study, it was concluded that: (1) The application of the habituation method to instill Islamic spiritual intelligence of mildly disabled children in SLB Putra Idhata Madiun is applied in the habituation of daily activities. These activities such as: habituation of praying before and after learning, performing ablutions before Dzuhur prayer, saying greetings before entering the room, shaking hands when meeting the teacher, providing Islamic religious education material and commemorating Islamic holidays (2) The success of the habituation method is influenced by the role of the teacher, parental support, and the school environment. Obstacles such as the lack of parental involvement, limited teacher innovation, and students' difficulty in understanding instructions require synergy so that religious values are embedded effectively. Based on the conclusions, the researchers proposed several suggestions, in the form of: (1) To SLB Putra Idhata Madiun to pay more attention to children with intellectual disabilities who have difficulty following habituation or controlling emotions, (2) Teachers are expected to be more creative in learning and applying habituation methods, and understanding student characters to provide appropriate handling, (3) Parents are expected to continue school learning methods at home with loving guidance.
