Abstract

The background of this research is due to the low learning results of sixth-grade students at MI PSM Gedoro, particularly in the subject of Islamic Cultural History. This occurs because the teacher only uses the lecture method during the learning process, which tends to make students feel bored. As a result, students are less interested, leading to a lack of focus during explanation and difficulty in understanding what is being conveyed by the teacher's. This research aims to enhance the activity and learning result of sixth-grade students at MI PSM Gedoro in the subject of Islamic Cultural History through the use of Lapbook media. The author employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method proposed by Kemmis & McTaggart, which two cycles, with each cycle comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research are sixth-grade students, utilizing instruments such as tests, observations, and documentation. The use of Lapbook media in the Islamic Cultural History material for sixth-grade students can improve learning outcomes. In Cycle I, the average score was 53.1, with a percentage of 36%. This increased in Cycle II, where the percentage reached 78.6% and the average score was 77.2. Based on this research, it can be concluded that teachers need to better understand the classroom situation and should be more creative in delivering material. This approach can enhance student engagement in the classroom, which may lead to improved learning result.
