Abstract
Peer conformity is the tendency of individuals to adjust their attitudes and behaviors to align with their peer group. Motivation is needed to help students develop their potential so they can achieve and be creative, including in Islamic Education subjects. Ideally, students should have a strong will and study independently, but many are still reluctant to study Islamic Education and lack interest in deepening their religious knowledge. This research aims to determine the level of peer conformity among seventh-grade students in Islamic Education and examine students' motivation to learn, particularly in Islamic Education. The main objective is to analyze the influence of peer conformity on learning motivation in Islamic education. This study uses a quantitative survey method with simple regression analysis. The sample comprises 169 7th grade students at SMPN 5 Depok, selected through stratified random sampling. Data collection was conducted in three steps: 1). Descriptive analysis, including frequency tables and their interpretation, 2). Analysis prerequisites through normality and homogeneity tests, and 3). Hypothesis testing using simple regression analysis with SPSS. From the research results, it can be concluded that: 1). The level of Peer Conformity in 7th grade students is considered moderate with an average of 70.99, 2). The level of Islamic Education Learning Motivation of 7th grade students is categorized as moderate, which is indicated by an average value of 66.18, 3). The results of simple regression analysis show that there is a significant effect of peer conformity and islamic education learning motivation with a p-value of 0.00 which is smaller than 0.05 and results of data analysis, it is found that alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted an null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected Based on the conclusion, the researcher suggests: 1). Schools to actively facilitate positive interactions, 2). Students to choose positive friends and maintain good communication, 3). Parents to be involved in their children's education, 4). Future researchers expand the population and variables to understand islamic education learning motivation more deeply.
